Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 4, 2026

1. Introduction

Flip ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data when you use the Flip mobile application ("the App").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by the sign-in service. An account is required to use the App.

Recipe Content:

Recipes you import via URL, photo, or text are sent to our servers for processing (extraction and transformation). This includes recipe URLs, ingredient lists, instructions, and photos you upload.

Usage Data:

We collect analytics data including screen views, feature usage (imports, flips, collections, grocery actions), subscription events, session identifiers, app version, and device platform (iOS or Android).

Subscription Data:

If you subscribe to Flip Pro, purchase and subscription status information is processed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Device Information:

We collect your device platform (iOS or Android) and app version for analytics and compatibility purposes.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect medical records, protected health information (PHI), precise location, contacts, call logs, browsing history outside the App, financial information (payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google), or biometric data. We only collect user-provided dietary preferences and goals (such as high protein, low carb, or ingredient exclusions) as needed to provide the recipe transformation service.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Process and transform recipes you import
  • Authenticate your account (if you sign in)
  • Manage your subscription status
  • Improve the App through anonymized usage analytics
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve performance
  • Communicate important service updates

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Data: Your saved recipes, dietary rules, collections, and grocery lists are stored locally on your device using SQLite and AsyncStorage. This data is not synced to our servers unless you explicitly perform an action that requires server processing (e.g., importing or flipping a recipe).

Server Processing: Recipe content sent to our servers for import or transformation may be cached on our servers to improve performance and reduce processing times for repeated requests. We use industry-standard security measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may receive your data:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): Handles sign-in with Apple and Google. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions and in-app purchases. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Axiom: Receives anonymized usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent to Axiom.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Handles payment processing for subscriptions.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the App. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

8. Data Retention

Locally stored data persists on your device until you uninstall the App. Server-side cached recipe data is retained indefinitely and is not linked to individual user accounts. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Axiom's data retention policies. Account data through Firebase is retained until you request account deletion by contacting floatsllc313@gmail.com.

9. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Deletion: You can delete locally stored data by uninstalling the App. To request deletion of your account, contact us at floatsllc313@gmail.com.
  • Account: You can sign out at any time from the Profile screen.
  • Analytics: Usage analytics are collected to improve the App. Contact us if you wish to opt out.
  • Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications within the App settings.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at floatsllc313@gmail.com.

11. International Users

If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
